I just wanted to tell you how happy I am that we updated our website and made it responsive to mobile users a little more than a year ago.

You should be very happy too, because it will affect everyone, but no worries, we are in good shape.

Keeping Google Happy is Important

We all know that keeping a website in Google’s good graces in no easy task lately, but we always do everything we can to make sure our website follows what Google wants.

A few weeks ago, Google announced that is does intend to move forward with splitting its index. They have been talking about this for a while, but now they are going to roll it out sometime this year.

This is Important

This is huge because they are going to split their index into mobile and desktop indexes – making the mobile index the primary one and the desktop index secondary.

That means all sites that are responsive and mobile friendly, like ours, will be listed and given a better rating in the primary mobile index as well as the secondary desktop index.

Google has not been totally clear (no surprise there) about how all this will fall out, or exactly how it will all work, so we’ll have to watch and see, but we did see this coming, and we will be in pretty good shape as this next major Google step comes into play.

Just thought you’d like to know!
